One Card Draw Nov 16

Today's one-card draw will run from noon to midnight Eastern time. I have some errands to run, so this will enable people to leave a request for a reading then check back later. It will also allow me to include as many people as possible.

Feel free to pimp me out to your friends, thanks!

I have a ton of stuff to do today too. Is it OK if I put in a request for a card now? Whenever you get to it is fine with me ^_^ I really enjoyed last month's draw and I'm looking forward to this month's too!

(And pimpage has been done!)

I'd be interested in a card, looking for advice in how to deal with the seasonal depression and holiday depression that's starting to poke its head up.

Maiden of Spirit
The answer to your question lies in taking joy in accomplishment, big or small. The Maiden of Spirit walks with you to lift up your spirits (literally), and to help you change your perception of things. This is the medicine of finding reasons to be joyful, and celebrating them, whatever we find, however small it may be. It is possible to appreciate the beauty of the tiger even as he crouches to devour us.

Seven of Fire
There is no easy way around this. It is a time for courage, for standing up for what you believe, for finding your inner strength. The good news is that the strength is there, and you can tap into it. Others may try to be powerful and persuasive, but take courage, find your strength and do not be swayed by what is 'easy' if you don't feel it is 'right.' Stick to your truth; you'll find strength and success coming from where you least expected.

I need a job. Unfortunately, most places that are hiring for the field I went to school for want more education or licensure than I have. Is a job on the horizon any time soon?

Child of Air
You know, in a reading like this I'd love to be able to say, "Absolutely, unconditionally," and then give a date. Unfortunately that is just not possible, because the energies around situations are constantly changing. I 'do' see a job on the horizon for you, a successful one. Where I come unstuck is on the word 'soon,' because time is so fluid. However, Child of Air shows me that, when the offer comes, you will indeed have a choice of positions; this is not going to be just one position that you 'have' to take. Look with your spirit-eyes and listen with your spirit-ears; Child of Air is leaving you a breadcrumb trail to lead you in the right direction.

Re: Card, Please!
For you, the Fairy Card! Why does this not surprise me (laughs)?

This card brings the return of joy, and magic. It is also an indication of interaction with the Fae kingdoms, however we perceive them to be.

Our physical bodies need food and nurturing if they are going to survive. This card reminds us that our sensitive bodies will also wither if we do not nourish them. This card reminds us to delight in the sunset, catch snowflakes on our tongues, and laugh with our friends often.

Six of Water
For you, I have drawn the Six of Water. This card is very much a card of happiness, the happiness that comes with sensing the interconnectedness of all things. The Six of Water is advising you to watch for unusual ways in which you can share your happiness with others. There is karma with this card, too; a bonding with those with whom you have shared previous lifetimes, or far-memory. Keep sharing your happiness, and happiness will keep itself sharing with you.

Eight of Karma
For you, I have drawn the Eight of Karma. This is not as bad as it might sound; this card is indicating to me that your current situation is simply a cycle. Like all cycles, they come and go, in their own time. Nature teaches us in a gentle way, and when we are not listening, her voice becomes stronger. She does not teach out of spite or anger, but rather to bring and to keep everything in balance. This too will balance. This too will pass.

Eight of Water
The Eight of Water brings a change to emotional issues. However, this isn't a quick fix, nor is it something that someone can do for us. This card reassures us that positive changes are all around us, but we have to embrace them and make them manifest. It's no good someone telling us to 'get over it,' because we'll never get over it, but we'll get THROUGH it. Little by little, we'll let go of what is holding us back, which will make room for new in our lives. It's like eating an elephant; just have to take it one bite at a time.

Crone of Earth
This card urges me to tell you to take advice from both the elders in your Earthwalk, and the ancient voice that lives within your heart. Be very observant. Watch for signs and portents; or, translated into business lingo, watch for market trends. I believe your work will be rewarded, but you are going to have to be very savvy, particularly in the beginning stages, in order to flourish.

Mother of Air
The appearance of the Mother of Air signifies that it is time to chill out, to retreat, to find some alone time where you can sit in the stillness and listen to your inner voice. Her voice is being drowned out at the moment through all the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is time to re-evaluate your tenets, morals, and goals. If you don't already, now is an excellent time to take up something like yoga or tai chi, that will discipline both the body and the mind.

Grandmother of Rebirth
Anything for you, dear one!

For you, we have the Grandmother of Rebirth. She is the Crone of the Crones, the Wise of the Wise. She is the overseer of birth, and death, and rebirth. She is the gray-haired midwife, long past her own childbearing years, that still brings new life into the world. She dances with our shadow-selves, and makes us see that until we let go of what is not growing corn in our lives, there is no room for anything new. She teaches surrender, letting go, and transformation. She teaches us to be like the snake, and shed the skin that no longer fits, so that we can leave the old to become the new, and embrace the healing that comes with that growth. But even more than all that, she teaches us to love ourselves just as we are, yet to always strive to be better, to be best.

(Can you tell I just LOVE this card?!)

Five of Earth
The Five of Earth is, unfortunately, a card of worry. This worry has enslaved you; it has got you believing that you're someone you aren't, that you are not as empowered as you truly are. When we believe we don't have the right to be who we authentically are, we lose our strength, and start to wander aimlessly looking for answers which are right inside our hearts the whole time. It is time to lay that worry aside, to look within for answers rather than expecting them to come externally, and to take back your authentic self.

Just found you through Ysabetwordsmith;

Any chance you'd be willing to do a read for a stranger? If so here's some particulars: I've got a full time job and a full time toddler. My boss retired at the beginning of the summer and my department is still hanging in limbo all these months later. In the meantime, I've been taking over as ad-hoc manager without too much trouble because my co-workers are disorganized and need someone to push them around. That got noticed and my interim boss intends to announce to the rest of the department that he's actually granting me managerial powers sometime later this week. I'm a little worried about how my co-workers will react to me being promoted from within. I'm also still antsy about what the ultimate fate of our department will be: will we stay with the interim boss permanently or will we be merging with another department similar to our own. And if and when all of this happens, will I finally get a pay raise and job title change to go with the managerial powers?

Two of Spirit
That's a lot of info for one little card to answer (grins), but I think we've cracked it.

Whenever I see a Two come up in a reading, I see a choice. And the choice I see for you, is to stop giving everyone else so much power over you. It doesn't matter how your co-workers will respond to you being promoted from within. What matters is that you do the job with the best of your integrity. It doesn't matter whether the department stays with the interim boss, or whether it merges, or anything else that might occur. What matters is that you 'hang on loosely,' and roll with whatever changes are made.

You have the choice to let these situations have mastery over you, or you can take mastery over them by letting them be what they are, and riding with them.

My Medicine Elder once told me, "There are three types of business in life; your business, my business, and God's business. God can take care of his own business. That leaves your business and my business. If you're busy looking after my business, who's looking after your business?"

It's all unfolding just as it should. Finances, department, co-workers, everything. The key to this card is to let go. Choose not to let it get to you, and take time to smell the flowers.

The Grandmother of Sacrifice
Don't panic. She is not as dark as she sounds!

My Medicine Elders taught that the definition of sacrifice was to make something holy by giving it away. This Grandmother's message is one of hope, of sacrificing what is safe for what is unknown. She teaches us not to let what is good rob us of what is best. Often when we reach a point of total surrender, then the peace that passes all understanding, that 'Zen' place takes over, and we become one with All That Is.

Ace of Air
Well, Aphrodite is not really in my culture, but maybe my Grandmothers and she are sitting together having tea (smiles).

The Ace of Air is asking clarity of thought from you at this time. Use your mind wisely. Don't let the jabber of other people who do not understand your intent, nor thoughts from your past confuse you into deception. Clear thinking is needed in order to authentically progress forward.
