Hive Mind--Input Requested, Please?

Hive mind:

When buying a work of art from an independent artist, does a story explaining the piece make it mean more to you than just your appreciation of the piece?

Is the background information in the online listing enough?
Would a printed card accompanying the piece when you received it be appreciated?
Would you prefer a handwritten note explaining the piece and thanking you for your patronage?

Thanks!

So, a printed card that had examples of the repeating patterns on the piece, for example; the moss represented the moss on the rocks at home, the cable represented the ropes with which the men worked... and then on the back of said card, a quick handwritten note, such as, "The glaze really makes this piece pop! Thank you for your interest in my work," or something to that effect, yes?

Yup, that's about what I meant :-D

Looks pretty unanimous here...
